This May, Changzhou’s rail transit construction plan was approved by the State Council, and the National Development and Reform Commission issued an approval, upon which Changzhou has become the fourth city in Jiangsu province that is authorized to build rail transit lines.
The first-phase project of Line 1 connects the Changzhou North Station of the Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway, the Olympic Sports Center, the Public Square, the Changzhou Station of Shanghai-Nanjing Railway, Wen Hua Gong (plaza of culture and entertainment), the Administrative Center of Wujin District, the Science & Education Town, the Changzhou South Station (under planning) and other important nodes.
The first-phase program of Line 2 links the New Town of Zhonglou District, Nan Da Jie and Bei Da Jie Business Centers, Wen Hua Gong, Tianning Temple, Hong Mei Park, the Administrative Center of Qishuyan District, etc.
