On July 27, Jean-Jacques de Dardel, the Swiss ambassador to China, visited Changzhou to attend the Jiangsu Overseas Investment Forum.
Bai Suning, chairman of Jiangsu People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (JSPAFFC), Cai Xisheng,, vice chairman of JSPAFFC, Zou Hongguo, chairman of Changzhou People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CZPAFFC), Fang Guoqiang, deputy mayor of Changzhou, and Du Jibin, vice chairman of CZPAFFC and director of Changzhou Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, met with the ambassador and extended a warm welcome to him.
De Dardel first visited China in 1986, and has returned many times, giving him extensive experience of the country when he assumed his current role in early 2014.
At the meeting, the ambassador proudly reviewed the great achievements of the economic cooperation between Switzerland and China in recent years, and was full of confidence in the bright prospects of economic and social cooperation between the two countries.
The ambassador also visited the plant of Rieter (China) Textile Instruments Co., Ltd., a Swiss-invested enterprise in Changzhou.. He wished the company to take the “express train” of China’s rapid development and achieve higher performance in the future.
