It is learned from the Changzhou Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology on August 9th that Changzhou has secured a total Jiangsu provincial funding of 158 million RMB for 21 science and technology projects, ranking the 3rd place in Jiangsu in terms of project numbers and the 4th in terms of funding.
This year’s focus is placed on competitive and emerging industries. Therefore, among the 21 projects, 13 are mid-and-high-end equipment manufacturing ones, 4 are electronic information ones, 2 are new material ones and 2 are new energy ones. Meanwhile, Category A (special projects) and Category B (joint provincial and municipal contract projects) projects are actively advanced. For instance, to align with the One Road One Belt Initiative, the local government has assigned the Category A project “R & D and Industrialization of World’s Leading Energy-efficient and Low Emission Diesel Locomotives for Export” to Qishuyan Zhongche Locomotive Co., Ltd.. It has also set up two Category B subject matters, “Smart Manufacturing Technologies” and “Key Graphene Technologies”, to help with the commercialization of 7 companies’ research fruits and to foster key industries.
It is estimated that 1.39 million RMB worth of new investments will be made with the implementation of the 21 projects. And so far, the projects have generated a total sales revenue of 7.81 billion RMB, an aggregate profit & tax of 960 million RMB and 269 patent applications. It is believed that these projects will help boost the local industries’ level and competitiveness.
