Under the severe international market situation, Changzhou’s exports bucked the trend from January to May. The import and export totaled $ 11.61 billion, of which the exports reached $ 8.76 billion, up 1.8%, an increase 3.2 percent higher than that of Jiangsu province.
Between January and May, the exports to the One Belt and One Road Initiative(OBOR) related countries reached $ 2.71 billion, an increase of 8.9%. Exports to ASEAN and Middle East increased by 18.2% and 15.3% respectively.
From January to May, high-tech exports reached $ 1.396 billion, an increase of 3.69%; the exports of electromechanical products totaled $ 4.82 billion, increased by 3.9%; and the exports of chemical products achieved $ 700 million, up 4.4%.
