On May 31, Vice Mayor Mr. Fang Guoqiang attended the Eighth Sino-French Mayor Round Table Conference and delivered a speech on the theme of New Impetus for Economic Growth. 22 Chinese city mayors or representatives from Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Shenyang, Nanjing, Wuhan, Urumqi, Qingdao, Sanya, Changzhou, and so on, and 13 French city mayors from Grenoble, Marseille, Lyon, Bordeaux, Strasbourg, and so on attended the Conference. The participants discussed issues relating to environmental protection, economic growth and social relations, and introduced the experiences of their own cities.
During the Conference, Fang also had exchanges with the participating French company executives and city mayors.
