Headed by speaker Mr. Lee GyeJoo, the parliamentary delegation of Namyangju, South Korea paid a friendly visit to Changzhou between January 17 and 18.
In the afternoon of January 17, Mr. Yu Zhiping, deputy director of Changzhou Municipal People's Congress, met with the delegation at the Municipal Administration Center. Yu extended a warm welcome to the guests and introduced the economic and social development progress that Changzhou achieved in 2013. He said that Namyangju and Changzhou have been sister cities for 15 years and have made great achievements in economic and trade contacts, civil servants and teenagers exchanges, cultural organizations’ visits, etc. Satisfied with the current situation of friendly exchanges, Lee expressed the will of further promoting mutual understanding and cooperation through this visit. Du Jibin, director of Changzhou Foreign Affairs Office, Cheng Guoping, director of Ethnic, Religious, Overseas and Foreign Affairs Committee of Changzhou Municipal People’s Congress, and Xiao Ping, deputy director of the Administration Office of the Standing Committee of Changzhou Municipal People's Congress, attended the meeting.
On the morning of January 18, Changzhou Municipal People's Congress held a seminar with the delegation. Both sides expressed strong will to enhance communication between each other, for the purpose of further consolidating and developing the friendly relations.
