On March 10th, the Benecke Changshun Eco Trim (Changzhou) Co., Ltd., invested by Continental AG, one of the Fortune 500 companies, was officially opened in Wujin National Hi-tech Industrial Zone (WIZ). Party Secretary Yan Li met with the delegation headed by Dr. Ralf Cramer, member of the executive board of Continental, president and CEO of Continental China.
Yan congratulated Continental on its successful investment in Changzhou. He said the Benecke Changshun Project would infuse new energy into Changzhou’s automotive industry. He stated that the local government would accelerate structural adjustment in the new normal and ensure stability in economic and social development. In recent years, Changzhou has built sister-city relationship with Essen, Germany, and established the Sino-German Innovation Park, which promoted the progress of local vocational education and innovation capacity, and attracted a large number of investment projects.
Dr. Cramer said the Benecke Changshun Project set a new record of plant construction in the history of Continental, which could have not been achieved without great support from Changzhou and Wujin governments. He stated that Continental would focus on research and development, expanding production capacity and controlling costs, in order to seek for further development in Changzhou.
Benecke Changshun Eco Trim (Changzhou) Co., Ltd. was registered in late 2014 in Changzhou, with a total investment of 75 million euros and registered capital of 25 million euros. The first-phase plant covers 25,000 square meters, which is expected to achieve annual output value of 500 million yuan. The second-phase plant takes an area of 10,000 square meters, which is expected to reach annual output value of one billion yuan.
