From July 16 to 17, the 24th Meeting of the Joint Committee of Economic Cooperation between Jiangsu, China and Bavaria, Germany was held in Jintan, Changzhou.

Jiangsu and Bavaria are friendship provinces with cooperation in high-end equipment, automobiles and auto parts, new materials, and others. During the meeting, the government delegations of the two sides conducted detailed consultations on in-depth cooperation in the economic and social sectors, and reached a series of substantive future work plans and initiatives.

In recent years, Jintan has continuously introduced German-funded enterprises. At present, there are nearly 20 German-funded enterprises in Jintan, such as EMAG, Pilz, CommScope, and Galvanoform. Currently, Jintan Economic Development Zone is planning to build a Sino-German (Changzhou·Jintan) Innovation Industrial Park with a planned area of 4.8 square kilometers. It will become an international SME cooperation park for industrial development, R&D incubation, corporate office, education and training, in order to create the best platform for German SMEs to expand into the Chinese market.

Bavaria, officially the Free State of Bavaria, is a landlocked federal state of Germany, occupying its southeastern corner. With an area of 70,550.19 square kilometres, Bavaria is the largest German state by land area. Its territory comprises roughly a fifth of the total land area of Germany. It is also Germany's second-most-populous state (after North Rhine-Westphalia). Bavaria's capital and largest city, Munich, is the third-largest city in Germany. The state also has the second largest economy among the German states by GDP figures, giving it a status as a rather wealthy German region.
