On September 12, the Jiangsu-Germany Dialogue 2023 was inaugurated in Changzhou with the objective of promoting collaboration in various sectors, including trade, new energy, the digital economy, and innovation platforms.

The event was jointly organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, the Changzhou Municipal People's Government, the China-Germany Friendship Association, and AHK Greater China.

Changzhou has increasingly become a prominent choice for German companies' investments in recent years. Notable companies such as Siemens, ThyssenKrupp, Bosch, Volkswagen, and Lanxess have contributed to the growth of the Sino-German (Changzhou) Innovation Industrial Park and the German-invested enterprise hub in the Wujin National Hi-tech Industrial Zone.

As of the end of the previous year, Changzhou was home to 247 German-funded enterprises with a total registered foreign capital of $1.74 billion. These companies mainly operate in sectors such as automotive electronics, machinery and equipment manufacturing, new materials, new energy, and environmental protection.

Concurrently, Germany has become a significant foreign investment destination for Changzhou-based companies. The city has initiated 52 projects in Germany, with a combined agreed investment of $795 million, marking the highest level of Changzhou's investment in Europe.

Changzhou has successfully established a comprehensive ecosystem for the new energy industry, encompassing electricity generation, energy storage, and application. The city is proud to host several unicorn enterprises, including Trina Solar, CALB, and SVOLT.

During the meeting, an entrepreneurial alliance was launched, and agreements for 11 joint venture projects were reached, with a total investment of 256 million euros.

Approximately 60 companies, including Kuehne + Nagel, BSH Home Appliances, Freudenberg, and SENEC GmbH, participated in the Sino-German enterprise matchmaking meeting. In addition to business discussions, the event featured cultural exchange activities, such as a German beer carnival.
