In the recently released list of 2016 China 's Top 100 E-Commerce Cities, Changzhou was ranked 28th.
Grasping the new development opportunities of Internet+, Changzhou has attracted a great number of e-commerce enterprises to invest in the city. Changzhou's e-commerce presents a rapid development trend, with an average annual growth rate of more than 35% in e-business transactions.
The 2016 China 's Top 100 E-Commerce Cities, released by Ali Research Institute in its Report on Chinese Cities’ E - Commerce Development Index, reflects the e-commerce development status of the domestic cities at or above prefecture level, which comprehensively evaluated three indicators of e-business applications, e-business services and e-business development.
According to incomplete statistics, Changzhou currently has more than 2,000 foreign trade enterprises involved in B2B cross-border e-business. In the first half of 2016, the city's e-commerce transactions amounted to 125 billion yuan, an increase of 47.1%, expecting to exceed 250 billion yuan by the end of the year.
