On the afternoon of March 7, Changzhou International Medical Devices Center was officially settled in Wujin Economic Development Zone. As only one comprehensive project focusing on high-end medical devices in Jiangsu province, it involves of total investment of RMB 5 billion and covers a total area of 800,000 square meters. Changzhou International Medical Devices Center plans to build “one park and six centers”, namely, international medical devices park (Industrial Park), exhibition center, logistics center, information center, production and research service center, testing center and business center. After completion, the project will become the medical devices exposition and purchasing center, and production and research center with the largest scale, most complete varieties, and most comprehensive health care services.
Changzhou pays attention on the development of biomedicine, especially the medical device industry. During the "Eleventh Five-Year" period, the annual growth rate of medical device industry in Changzhou reached 42%, and the total number of enterprises and sales revenue ranks second in the province.
Changzhou has formed six industries in medical device, including orthopedic implants, polymer equipment, surgical instruments, hygiene materials and dressings, medical electronic products and rehabilitation equipment. A batch of well-known medical device enterprises has been incubated here, such as Trauson Medical, Kanghui Medical and Kanghua Medical.
