On Aug 9, a batch of solid wood floors and accessories weighing 48.3 tons were released after passing the territorial inspection by the Changzhou Customs. The exported products will be used for the maintenance and reconstruction project of an art theater in Southeast Asia. This is the first time that Changzhou Port has exported solid wood flooring.
Changzhou is an important cluster of bamboo, wood and grass products for export. At present, there are more than 200 wooden floor export enterprises and over 300 supporting enterprises, with an annual production capacity of more than 350 million square meters. Statistics show that since the beginning of this year, the export value of all kinds of wooden flooring in Changzhou has increased by 60.6% year-on-year.
To facilitate the export, Changzhou Customs offered consulting to the enterprises, helping them to choose suitable trade methods. A liaison officer was appointed to assist the enterprises in commodity classification and documents review before the formal declaration, and guide the on-site declaration of the enterprises; through these efforts, enterprises have strengthened traceability management, and improved self-inspection and quality-control capabilities.
