It was learned on November 3rd that a Korean young man named Yu Song-Hen had established a wallpaper manufacturing company in Jintan. It is currently the only company producing wide wallpaper in China.
Over two years ago, with the help of the United Front Work Department of Jintan Party Committee and the Investment Promotion Office of Zhulin Town, 33-year-old Yu Song-Hen came to Jintan Jinxi Industrial Park from Seoul of South Korea, and set up Changhzou Hanli Wallpaper Manufacturing Co., Ltd. The company successively introduced 8 printing lines and coating lines from South Korea to produce 1,060 mm wide wallpaper in particular. The products include 6 main series such as non-woven paper PVC, rubber-faced mural material, pure natural nano-resin, etc. These products have been rated as green, environmentally-friendly and energy-efficient building products by China Association of Decorative Building Materials.
Compared to narrow wallpaper, wide wallpaper can be easily applied with less seams, less wastage and better appearance in decoration.
When we met Yu in the workshop, he was working with workers for products to be urgently exported to Dubai. He said that the company used to produce 500,000 square meters of wallpaper per month; but now the production is doubled, 50% of which is for export.
Living in China over the past few yeas, Yu can now speak fluent Chinese, but still has some difficulties in understanding Jintan dialect. His wife is accompanying their children studying in Changzhou. They only go back to South Korea during the Spring Festival and the Korean National Day (August 15th).
