Since Changzhou established meteorological record 61 years ago, the hottest day before 2013 was July 10th, 1978, with the highest temperature of 39.4℃. However, on August 6th this year, the temperature reached 40.1℃.
Up to August 10, Changzhou had experienced a total of 36 megathermal days, surpassing the largest number of 35 days in 1994. Moreover, the number of consecutive hot days reached 19, breaking the 17-day record in 1988.
