Recently, the platform for the first batch of national leading talents was set up in Changzhou. The Talents Exchange, Development and Service Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), Jiangsu Provincial Department of Science and Technology, and Changzhou Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology signed an agreement on co-establishing an innovation-driven center for national leading talents in Changzhou. Wang Chengbin, Deputy Mayor of Changzhou, attended the inauguration ceremony and delivered a speech.
Changzhou has been taking the lead in scientific and technological innovation in Jiangsu for a long term. 1,250 projects of leading talents have been signed in Changzhou so far. The city has also introduced more than 100 key entrepreneurship projects of leading talents which were invested by well-known VC institutions and key enterprises of Changzhou first, and supported by the investment fund and boot fund for talents later.
The orientation of the innovation-driven center is to give full play to the team knowledge and technical advantages of the national leading talents of scientific and technological innovation, and effectively carry out various services and activities, promote the integration of production, teaching and research, and improve the efficiency of technology transfer according to local demand and the direction of industrialization.
The program of innovation-driven center was officially launched by the MOST on December 23, 2014, and there were eight bases around China as of December 30, 2014. Changzhou is the first city in southern Jiangsu to establish the center.
