During the Chunyun period (Spring Festival travel rush) of this year, the passenger throughput of Changzhou Airport exceeded 500 million, far more than the same period over past years.
Chunyun is a period of travel inChina with extremely high traffic load around the time of the Chinese New Year. For Chunyun, more flights are available between Changzhou and several cities in Southwest, South and Northeast China, but tickets are in short supply. Chunyun starts from January 16 to January 25, during which the airport throughput surpassed 50,000, an increase of nearly 60% year-on-year.
"For Chunyun this year, we scheduled the largest number of flights ever, adding flights to Lanzhou, Yinchuan, Fuzhou, Taiyuan, Chongqing, Chengdu and Shenzhen,” said Ai Ming, ground services manager of Changzhou Airport.
Moreover, the airport opened extra windows and security channels, while the young employees volunteered in their spare time, offering information services for passengers.
