In January, Changzhou International Airport achieved a record-breaking passenger throughput of 328,000, representing a 39.1 percent year-on-year increase. The airport also experienced a substantial uptick in cargo and mail throughput, reaching 1,507.9 tons, showcasing a noteworthy 42.2 percent year-on-year growth.

On the passenger front, the airport intensified its efforts by boosting both domestic and international flight frequencies, along with enhancements to facilities and service processes to better accommodate travelers. Since the initiation of the Spring Festival travel rush on January 26, passenger traffic at the airport has consistently risen. Over the initial six days, cumulative passenger throughput reached 77,000, reflecting an impressive 81.1 percent year-on-year growth. Daily passenger flow consistently exceeded 13,000 for multiple days, continuously setting records during the Spring Festival travel period.

Concerning cargo operations, the airport has secured freight sources and expanded market reach. In response to seasonal demands, initiatives were implemented to meet the crab transport demand, actively participating in the shrimp seedling business, and precisely allocating cargo space based on transit cabin availability and capacity. Additionally, proactive coordination with partners such as Vipshop clothing agents and China Eastern Airlines cargo distribution facilitated the effective organization of additional flight cargo sources. Outbound cargo volume witnessed a 42.7 percent year-on-year increase, driven primarily by clothing, fresh products, and circuit boards. Meanwhile, inbound cargo volume rose by 34.9 percent year-on-year, with fresh products and general goods being the main commodities, destined mainly for Jinjiang, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Chengdu, among other destinations.
