On January 11, it was learned that Liyang Changdanghu Wetland Park has been classified as a national park (as a pilot project) after the preliminary assessment by experts and the public announcement by the State Forestry Administration (SFA).
Lake Changdanghu covers an area of 85 square kilometers, connecting with the Yangtze River in the north, Lake Gehu in the east and Lake Taihu in the south. It is the third largest lake of the Taihu Basin, with an average depth of 1.2 meters. The Changdanghu Wetland Park is beneficial to not only the ecological environment of Changzhou, but also the environment of Taihu Basin.
