On January 10, it was learned that the pilot product of Honey Plus high-efficiency PV modules developed by Trina Solar State Key Laboratory of PV Science & Technology has passed the test by world authoritative certification agency - TüV Rheiland. The peak output power reaches up to 324.5 Wp, which is a new record for polycrystalline silicon solar modules.
This marks a ‘grand slam’ for Trina Solar in the area of high-efficiency PV modules, for it has broken records in the development of monocrystalline silicon solar cells, polycrystalline silicon solar cells, monocrystalline silicon solar modules, and polycrystalline silicon solar modules.
Honey Plus is the second generation of Trina Solar’s Honey technology, which is combined with the technology of back-surface passivation and advanced metallization. In November 2014, the R&D staff achieved solar cell efficiency of 21.40% and 20.76% respectively at 156 mm x 156 mm industrial-grade monocrystalline silicon and polycrystalline silicon substrates, both breaking the world record.
