On the morning of December 11, Mayor Ding Chun met with Rui Hongyan, Party Secretary of Nanjing Tech University (NJTech), at the Administration Center. They witnessed the signing of the agreement on establishing the Changzhou West Taihu Industrial Institute of Nanjing Tech University.
Ding Chun said that the signing of the agreement is a joyous event in Changzhou. He hopes that the two sides will combine NJTech's scientific research capacity with Changzhou's outstanding industries to achieve a win-win situation. The governments of Changzhou city and Wujin district will provide the best services and fully support the construction and development of the institute.
Rui Hongyan said that both NJTech and Changzhou have innovative genes. NJTech will strive to explore the university-local government cooperation model to jointly cultivate talents with in-demand skills. At the same time, NJTech will take this opportunity to build the institute into a “golden signboard” for such cooperation.
The NJTech has a century-old history and is one of the first 14 universities selected into the National Innovation Enhancement Program. The NJTech Changzhou West Taihu Industrial Institute, co-founded by the NJTech and the West Taihu Science and Technology Industrial Park (WIZ), has a five-year plan of becoming a innovation-driven comprehensive institute for relevant graduate programs, technology transfer and incubation, innovative and entrepreneurial projects, and so on.
Vice mayor Liang Yibo and secretary-general Hang Yong attended the meeting.
