The Changzhou Weidun Cultural Festival & Peach Blossom Festival 2014 will be held in Weidun Park between March 30 and April 13. This event is co-organized by the Qishuyan District People's Government and the Changzhou Municipal Bureau of Gardening & Greening Management. With the theme of ‘seeking the paradise in your heart,’ there will be an exhibition of more than 1,000 plants of 31 varieties of ornamental peach trees, tulips, lavender, etc., trying to create a spectacular paradise in the park.
During the festivals, Weidun Park will hold 15 serial activities including opening performance, photography contest, children's painting exhibition, etc.
At present, flowers are blooming earlier than usual due to high temperatures, and almost 40% of flowering peaches throughout the country are in full bloom, and the flowering stage is estimated to last till mid-April.
