On June 20th, it was informed that the Diaozhuang Road renovation project has started. Upon completion, the 7-meter-wide old road will be widened to 30 meters. The new road is expected to open to traffic within the year.
The Diaozhuang Road, connected with the East Hebin Road in the south and the East Laodong Road in the north, is a 1,461-meter-long secondary road in Changzhou. The old cement concrete pavement has many existing cracks, dislocation and potholes, with no sidewalk on either side. There are security risks as motor vehicles, non-motor vehicles and pedestrians are traveling on the same lane.
After the reconstruction, the road will have four lanes for motor vehicles in the middle, as well as non-motor vehicle lanes, green belts and sidewalks on both sides. At the same time, the project will build public facilities such as rain sewers, water supply, gas pipeline, street lighting, signs and markings, landscaping, etc.
