Seven Changzhou athletes and one coach participated in the Olympic Games in London. They achieved one bronze medal, two fourth places and one sixth place. On August 20, the grand welcoming ceremony for theses athletes was held in Changzhou Administrative Center. Mayor Yao Xiaodong attended the ceremony and met with the athletes.
On behalf of the municipal government and 5,000,000 Changzhou people, Yao Xiaodong warmly welcomed the victorious return of these Olympic athletes, and expressed the sincere congratulations on their achievements. In addition, Mayor Yao extended the cordial greeting and high esteem to those devoting themselves to Changzhou’s sports undertakings over the years.
