On Dec 14, China Academy of Information and Communications released the Report on China’s Top 100 Counties and Top 100 Districts in Industrial Development. Wujin, Changzhou ranks fourth in China's top 100 districts in industrial development, which is the first in Jiangsu province.
Under the guidance of the Operation, Monitoring and Coordination Bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), a scientific research institute directly under the MIIT, initiated the program of Top 100 Districts in Industrial Development. Based on the philosophy of "innovative, coordinated, green, open and shared development" and the big data platform, CAICT has carried out empirical analysis and comparative study on the industrial competitiveness of counties and districts nationwide.
As one of the cradles of the “Jiangnan Model," Wujin has a strong entrepreneurial atmosphere for private enterprises. It is one of the first demonstration bases of innovation and entrepreneurship in China. There are 134,000 companies registered in the district, including nearly 1,600 industrial enterprises above designated scale.
From January to November this year, Wujin's industrial output of enterprises above the designated size reached 434.5 billion yuan, up 14.1% over the same period of last year. Focusing on graphene, smart equipment, rail transit and other emerging industries, the involved enterprises have been accelerating transformation and upgrading to boost industrial quality and efficiency.
The Three-Year Plan of Cultivation of Distinctive Enterprises in Wujin District (2017-2019) has been launched to promote the upgrading of private enterprises, with the goal of nurturing top 300 industrial enterprises “Created in Wujin”.
