On the afternoon of September 2, Kim O'Keeffe, mayor of Greater Shepparton, Victoria, Australia, led a delegation to Jintan district in Changzhou. District leaders Shen Dong and Zhou Xinsheng received the delegation.
The friendship between Jintan and Greater Shepparton began in 2014. Later in 2016, the two sides officially established a friendship-city relationship. Since then, people-to-people exchanges and missions have been carried out every year to seek new opportunities for cooperation.
The City of Greater Shepparton is a local government area in the Hume region of Victoria,Australia, located in the north-east part of the state. Greater Shepparton is a dynamic and diverse community in the Food Bowl of Australia. Its main industries include agriculture, gardening, manufacturing, etc.
At the meeting, the district mayor Shen Dong briefed the delegation on Jintan’s economic and social development in recent years. He said that since the establishment of the friendship-city relationship between the two sides, exchanges and cooperation have been carried out in the fields of scientific and technological innovation, culture and education. He hopes that both sides will give full play to their respective advantages and further deepen cooperation in more areas such as investment promotion, innovation and development, and agricultural products. Mayor Kim O'Keeffe praised the remarkable achievements of Jintan’s development during these years.
