According to the officially released information from the Jiangsu Provincial Health Commission, between 00:00 and 24:00, February 17, Jiangsu had three newly confirmed cases of the Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19), all of which were moderate cases. 37 additional patients have been cured and were discharged from the hospital.

Of the newly confirmed cases, one was in Changzhou, one was in Suzhou, and one was in Huai’an. The oldest patient was 65, and the youngest was 49. All of them are currently receiving treatment in designated hospitals and are in stable physical condition.

The newly confirmed case in Changzhou is a resident of Rulin town, Jintan district, who had close contact with one of the previously confirmed cases in Jintan. He is currently receiving treatment in one of the designated hospitals and is in stable physical condition. 14 people who were in close contact with this patient have been found and are now under medical observation.

As of the 17th of February, 629 confirmed cases have been reported in Jiangsu, of which 50 cases were confirmed in Changzhou. To date, a total of 27 patients in Changzhou diagnosed with the COVID-19 have been cured and have been subsequently discharged from the hospital.

Experts urge people who have traveled to Changzhou from Hubei province or another outbreak area to register at the local community or village committees. You will need to complete a temperature check and report the relevant information. Stay at home for a 14-day medical observation period and pay attention to your physical condition. If symptoms such as fever, cough, chest distress, shortness of breath, fatigue or diarrhea have occurred or occur during the isolation period, call 120 (hotline for emergency care and first aid) or contact your community officers to receive treatment at one of the designated fever clinics.

In order to reduce the risk of cross-infection, please avoid public situations such as parties and gatherings, and do not go to any crowded places.
