On the morning of January 6, Mayor Ding Chun met with Zheng Yongan, party secretary of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA), and his delegation to further strengthen the cooperation between Changzhou and NUAA in the construction of the Tianmu Lake campus of NUAA.
Ding said that Changzhou has a good industrial and economic foundation, and will make great efforts to build NUAA's Tianmu Lake campus. Changzhou also looks forward to extensive and deep cooperation with NUAA, particularly in terms of smart manufacturing.
Zheng said that both parties will go through the design of the project to achieve step-by-step implementation of the overall planning. In the future, the new campus will make plans of building a number of key laboratories to contribute to the economic and social development of Changzhou and Liyang.
The Tianmu Lake campus of NUAA is located west of Qianli Lake, with an area of about 53,000 square meters. In 2017, NUAA, Changzhou Municipal Government and Liyang Government signed the framework agreement for strategic cooperation and the framework agreement for cooperation in education. The new campus will start construction in the second half of this year and begin admitting students in the fall of 2019.
