Recently, it was learned from Qinglong Sub-district that Changzhou Almaden Co., Ltd. has officially established a photovoltaic cell plant in Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO) with an annual capacity of 400,000 pieces. The products are specially designed for hot summer in the Middle East.
Previously, Changzhou Almaden has signed an agreement with the Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA) to set up a plant for manufacturing and training in the free trade zone.
The project covers an area of 15,000 square meters, with total investment of 110 million dirhams (about 183 million yuan), which is another milestone of Changzhou Almaden after setting up a branch in Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The construction is scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2015, upon which the plant will have an annual output of 400,000 pieces of super-thin double-glass PV cells and a first-class training center.
DSOA, a 100% government-owned free zone, was established following Law no 16 of 2005 of the Government of Dubai, with the mission to "facilitate and promote modern technology based industries" thus supporting the region's demand for business expansion. A full package of incentives and benefits are provided to companies operating within the free zone. DSO is a technology park and provides both a living and working integrated community.
