The China Embroidery Exhibition was opened on August 12th in the Chinese Museum of Women and Children. More than 100 pieces of embroidery works were shown at the exhibition representing 10 Chinese embroidery styles, including Shu Xiu (Sichuan embroidery), Yue Xiu (Guangdong embroidery) and Su Xiu (Suzhou embroidery), which are three of the four major styles, as well as some popular family or local styles like Gu Xiu (Gu embroidery), Bian Xiu (Kaifeng embroidery), Hang Xiu (Hangzhou embroidery), Jin Xiu (Shanxi embroidery), Liao Xiu (Liaoning embroidery), Jiang Xiu (Xinjiang embroidery) and Changzhou random-stitch embroidery. Sun Yanyun, the second heir of random-stitch embroidery and one of the Chinese Embroidery Artists, attended the exhibition with 10 of her works.
The exhibition lasts till August 22nd.
