Starting from November 11th, the public will be able to support a recall, return or ban of any substandard imported goods by logging in the quality risk information system of imported industrial goods.
The system is developed by Changzhou Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine (CIQ), which consists of four major information-gathering mechanisms. In addition to the function facing the public, the system also requires periodic feedbacks from enterprises that import industrial goods with statutory inspection, initiatively collects information about the quality of imported products on public web sites and carries out product quality risk analysis accordingly, and shares information with local authorities of business, health, customs, industry and commerce, technology, testing, etc.
It will not only greatly improve the efficiency of cargo clearance, import inspection, and so on, but also promote business integrity.
For ordinary consumers, in the use of imported commodities, they can send complaints about the goods to the website of imports quality and safety supervision. Regulatory authorities will carry out retrospective survey on imported goods and take actions against the substandard goods, such as recall, return, ban, etc. Any company of interest will be required for rectification, while a warning notification will be published throughout the country to expose the defective product and its manufacturer. In the future, any similar product imported will be controlled directly at the port so as to enhance the management of such product and its importer. To this end, CIQ will cooperate with Changzhou Consumers Association to co-process complaints or disputes against imported goods.
