On June 15, Terex (Changzhou) Machinery Co., Ltd. held a ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Genie® and the opening of its second-phase plant in Changzhou. John Garrison, CEO of Terex Corporation, and Dai Yuan, deputy secretary of Changzhou Municipal Committee of CPC, attended the event.
Dai Yuan said in his speech that Terex Changzhou has made considerable progress since its foundation in 2008. The aerial work platforms produced by the company ranked first in the Chinese market share. This year, Terex Changzhou continued to expand investment and started the second-phase project. The Municipal Government of Party Committee of Changzhou will continue to care for and support the development of Terex Corporation in Changzhou, and will always provide quality, convenient and efficient services.
John Garrison said the second-phase project in Changzhou was an important step of Terex Corporation in cultivating the Chinese market, which also proved it was the right decision to invest in China. He believed there was a bright future of China’s aerial work platform market.
Terex Corporation is a lifting and material handling solutions company reporting in five business segments: Aerial Work Platforms, Construction, Cranes, Material Handling & Port Solutions and Materials Processing. In 2008, Terex Corporation established the aerial work platforms production base in Changzhou National High-tech District (CND), mainly producing scissor lifts, vertical mast lifts and boom lifts. Up to now, Terex Corporation has made a total investment of approximately $ 57 million in Changzhou and registered capital of $ 31.9 million. The 2015 sales reached $ 140 million, an increase of over 20%.
According to reports, the new plant of Terex Changzhou has a registered capital of $ 5 million, covering 8,763 square meters, which is a main provider of welding, warehouses and other supporting services for Terex Changzhou.
