As the Yanjiang Intercity Railway (Shanghai - Nanjing) will start construction before the end of 2015, rail transport will thus be available in Jintan for the first time.
The Yanjiang Intercity Railway connects Nanjing and Shanghai through 23 stations in Jurong, Jintan, Wujin, Gehu, Qishuyan, Huishan, Jiangyin, Zhangjiagang, Changshu, Taicang, and so on, which is about 333 km long (371 km to Pudong Station). Its route is basically the same with that of the Yanjiang Expressway.
Once this intercity railway is opened to traffic, the two tourist resorts of Maoshan and Changdanghu will be able to attract more tourists from the Yangtze River Delta.
