On November 16, the first phase of the new plant of Mettler-Toledo (Changzhou) Measurement Technology Ltd. was completed and put into operation. Vice Mayor Fang Guoqiang attended the launch ceremony.
Following Mettler Toledo (Changzhou) Weight Scales Co., Ltd. and Mettler Toledo (Changzhou) Precision Balances Co., Ltd., the company was the third one invested by Mettler Toledo in Changzhou National Hi-tech District in December 2005. In 2015, the company increased its investment to launch the program of weight scales for commercial use.
The first phase of the new plant, with a total investment of 34.42 million USD, will gradually reach the annual capacity of 870,000 weight sensors, 70,000 weight modules, 30,000 pipettes and 360 million pipette tips after putting into operation.
It is reported that Mettler Toledo’s Changzhou branches have constantly introduced advanced international weighing technologies and developed various products catering to both international and domestic markets. At present, the launched products include: electronic vehicles scales, platform scales, track weighbridges, crane scales, counting scales, bulkweigher, packing scales, scales for hazardous area, axle load scales, weighing-burden systems, metal detectors, etc. Mettler Toledo also holds more than 200 different kinds of patents, including over 40 invention patents. Its Changzhou subsidiaries have become the global R&D, manufacturing and purchasing center of the group.
In addition, the new plant has been rated as a "Three-Star Green Industrial Building".
