According to the latest statistics, Changzhou’s e-commerce transaction volume reached about 85 billion yuan in 2013, accounting for 20% of the city’s GDP.
In recent years, Changzhou has gone great length to promote the application and development of e-commerce for the goal of National E-commerce Model City. The municipal government has worked out a three-year plan for e-commerce development in Changzhou, so as to further promote e-commerce industry and its related training programs, as well as creating an excellent environment for e-commerce development.
In 2013, the city's total online retail sales reached 13 billion yuan, accounting for 8.2% of total retail sales of consumer goods. More than 100,000 people are involved in e-commerce business, including 4,500 Tianmao and Taobao sellers. Mr. Cotton, DGG, Pridon Flooring and some other enterprises have become well-known online sellers.
