On the afternoon of August 15, Deputy Mayor Han Jiuyun met with the delegation headed by David Hoey, CEO of WorldSkills Organization, in Changzhou Technician College, Jiangsu Province.
Han said that Changzhou Technician College, Jiangsu Province was the comprehensive training base of Jiangsu Province for the 43rd WorldSkills Competition, during which we were responsible for training programs like plastic molding, prototyping, industrial mechanical installation, industrial control, etc. He hoped that the two sides would strengthen exchanges and cooperation to promote the transformation and upgrading of Changzhou’s manufacturing industry.
WorldSkills Organization was the sponsor of WorldSkills Competition. The contest is known as the "World Skills Olympics," which has so far been held for 43 sessions. In 2010, China joined the WorldSkills Organization.
Hoey said that industrial demand and educational support was very important. Changzhou City and Jiangsu Province had a very strong industrial demand, therefore he suggested to constantly improve vocational education and training for young people, though which the city could also seek a better economic development.
