On the morning of March 28th, the Launching Ceremony of the Album "Changzhou Through the Lenses" & the Opening Ceremony of the Exhibition of "Changzhou Through the Lenses of Chinese and Foreign Photographers" was held in Canal 5 Creative Campus. This event was hosted by Changzhou Municipal Publicity Department and organized by Changzhou International Culture (Exchange) Association and Changzhou Photographers Association.
Ms. Xu Ying, Member of the Standing Committee of Changzhou Municipal Committee of the CPC and Director of Changzhou Municipal Publicity Department, attended the ceremony and gave an address. City leaders Mr. Yang Jian, Mr. Wang Chengbin and Ms. Zhang Xiaoxia were present. Mr. Xie Chen, Deputy Editor of the Foreign Language Press, also attended the event.
Other participants include the directors of relative departments, local photographers, foreign friends and public representatives from all social sectors, amounting to more than 100 attendees.
"Changzhou Through the Lenses" is an album with descriptions in both Chinese and English, which is the first photo collections of Changzhou that is edited by foreigners. 6 photographers from U.S.A, Greece, Spain, Netherland, Australia and Japan and the famous domestic photographers Li Shaobai and Huang Yiming had shot about 100,000 photos of Changzhou. After a careful selection and several times of edits, 469 photos were finally selected into the album and published by the Foreign Language Press.
Meanwhile, "Changzhou Through the Lenses" is also looking forward to the promotion and copyright trade in more than 20 foreign countries. On April 6th, this album will travel abroad to England and take part in the London Book Fair 2012 on April 16th.
The exhibition in Changzhou will last till April 5th.
